Deep Fried Guacamole
It’s time to up your guac game! All you need is a ripe avocado, a handful of mix-ins and a batter to deep-fry or bake, and you can quickly whip up these delectable guac balls that are extra crisp on the outside with a soft and creamy inside.
Made with only feel-good ingredients, this recipe can be made gluten-free by simply swapping all-purpose flour with any gluten-free flour. You can also take the oil-free route and bake them for the ideal guilt-free vegan snack!

INGREDIENTS:-
For the guacamole :
- 1 avocado, ripe
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup tomato, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp coriander
- 1 lime, juiced
- Salt to taste
- Freshly crushed black pepper to taste
For the batter:
- 1 cup chickpea flour
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp chilli powder or paprika powder
- 1/4 cup water
INSTRUCTIONS:-
- For the guacamole : In a medium bowl, mash together the avocado, lime juice, pepper and salt. (Make it as chunky or smooth as you prefer). Mix in the onion, garlic, tomato and coriander.
- Scoop tablespoon sized balls of guacamole onto a baking tray and place in the freezer for 30 – 40 minutes.
- For the batter : In a mixing bowl, combine all the dry batter ingredients and whisk in water to form a smooth batter.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot to about 350 degrees F.
- Dip the frozen guacamole balls in the batter to evenly coat, and shake off excess batter.
- Fry the balls in oil for 2 – 4 minutes until crisp and lightly golden.
- For baking : you can place the battered guacamole balls on a greased baking sheet and bake in the oven at 350 degrees F for about 15 minutes or until it turns crisp.
- Transfer them onto a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Serve immediately with desired dipping sauce.
